2 Peter 1:3
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness.
Peter reminds believers that God’s limitless power has already placed in our hands every resource needed to live abundantly and walk in holiness. These gifts become real as we grow in the knowledge of Jesus, the One who lovingly calls us to share in His glory and goodness. Living out 2 Peter 1:3 is simply a matter of trusting what God has given us, deepening our relationship with Christ, and allowing His character to shape ours.
In Christ, we find everything required for salvation and spiritual growth. His divine power has already supplied what is needed to live the eternal life He offers. Because God’s power is without limit, no circumstance can stand against His ability to act on behalf of His children. These gifts are ours, and He invites us to bring Him both our struggles and our joys.
The Christian life begins from supply, not scarcity. As James writes, “Every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17). Nothing essential is missing. Godliness is the awareness of His abiding presence, producing reverence and trust, in daily life.
Nurses particularly embody this truth. Their strength, patience, and compassion are not drawn from their own selves, but from the One who created them in His image. God’s love flows through their care – seen in every word of comfort, every act of healing, and every sacrifice offered. Their vocation is a living testimony that God’s provision is more than enough.
Today, on International Nurses Day, we honor nurses as vessels of God’s steadfast love and mercy. Their devotion is a reflection of God’s strength at work through human hands. Through their service, His light is seen, and His love is revealed.
