Galatians 3:22
The Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
When parents or teachers discipline children, their intention is not to belittle or abandon them. Rather, their purpose is to guide, correct, and build character so they can mature into responsible and grounded individuals.
Similarly, the Mosaic law serves as a tutor. It reveals the daunting truth that we are all prisoners of sin. Yet, it points us to the only One who can save us (Galatians 3:23-24).
Everyone has fallen short of the glory of God. The Law cannot save us because our sinful nature makes obedience impossible (Romans 8:3). Without God’s intervention, we are helpless. We need a Savior.
In today’s verse, Paul implies that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation and fulfillment of God’s promise. It is not just through our deeds or obedience to the Law, but through faith that we can receive God’s promise to Abraham. Scripture promises that those who believe in the sacrifice of Christ become sons and daughters of God (Galatians 3:26), both now and for eternity.
When we place our faith in Christ, He makes us new. Our relationship with God is restored, and we inherit Abraham’s promise by faith. We are no longer slaves to sin but children of God, fully accepted and redeemed!
By His amazing grace, God sent His Son to take our place and break sin’s control over us. We owe everything to Him. So, today, let us surrender ourselves at His feet. Let us strengthen our trust in Him and receive God’s promise that comes through faith alone. Let us walk in the freedom and joy of His salvation.
