Psalm 126:5 – “Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.”

Did you know that Date Palms can take 4 to 8 years after planting before they will bear fruit, and between 7 and 10 years to start producing viable yields for commercial harvest? And if we apply this verse to this fact, can you imagine the joy in the faces of the people who planted the seeds on the ground?

Similarly in our lives, we can go through seasons which are more trying than others, sometimes for a brief moment, sometimes for a bit longer, or we may feel that God has forgotten us.

But stand firm and strong.  Our God promises us that “His favor lasts a lifetime, weeping may stay the night, but joy comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5). And “Instead of shame, my people will have a double portion, and instead of humiliation they will rejoice in their share.” (Isaiah 61:7).

If you feel you are sowing in tears, whatever is your circumstance, our God has His eyes on your situation, and His compassion and mercy are greater than any problem or hardship you are facing.

Remember that “in due time we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9b).

If a Date Palm can wait to bear fruit, so can we wait upon the Lord to reap a harvest with songs of joy, with singing, filled by His compassion and His favor that lasts a lifetime!
