Luke 11:13 – If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
As parents, we want the best for our children. We want to be there for them when they need us and to do everything in our power to provide for them. Our relationship with God is that of a parent and child. God has chosen us as His sons and daughters and just like all parents, He wants the best for us.
Ponder on this for a minute: God is our Heavenly Father and therefore knows what’s best for us. He knows our every need and want, but unlike earthly parents, our Heavenly Father is not bound or limited by anyone or anything. He is the Creator of all things and everything exists by His will. He is the Alpha and Omega, the God, who is, who was, and who is to come
In our obedience, He wants to give us gifts to make us happy and to fulfill our hearts’ desires. God wills for us to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The only roadblock is our hesitance to ask.
Dear Lord, thank you for choosing me as your child. What an honor and a privilege it is Lord, to be called your child. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of the Holy Spirit that you have promised to anyone who asks for it. Keep us safe through these times Lord. Protect our body and mind. Amen.
