Songs of Faith

But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. Psalm 13:5

David was in a position of deep discouragement when he wrote this psalm. After his prayer, he moved into a position of confidence and trust. David decides to trust in God’s mercy. When we can’t trust anything else, trust in God’s mercy. David directed his feelings instead of having his feelings direct him. He devoted his heart to rejoicing!

If we cannot rejoice in anything else, we surely can rejoice- in the salvation God has given us through Lord Jesus Christ. If you have believed in Jesus Christ, you can rejoice and tell your heart to start singing. Singing to the Lord would both express and increase our joy.

David transitioned from feeling depressed and abandoned by God to rejoicing in God. This psalm is a song of faith, knowing God still loves us and will be faithful to us, regardless of our feelings.

Perhaps things are not going right for us now; it may be going wrong. Here is a reminder to trust in God’s mercy. This verse reminds us that even if things are swirling around us and getting out of control, we should take time to slow down to thank God. He encourages us to give thanks for whatever is presently positive in our lives.

Praising God, thanking God and spending time in prayer allows us to experience the supernatural. We can trust in God regardless of the odds stacked against us. God loves us with unfailing love. We can raise songs of faith because He will not abandon us; instead, He will rescue us!

Praise God dear Pastors, brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
Let’s sing songs of faith. Because he has become our song and salvation. His Mercy endures forever. Let our hearts rejoice in the Lord now and for evermore.
Loving Heavenly Father thank you for mercy and rejoice through Lord Jesus Christ. King of kings, Lord of lords and the name above every other name. In Jesus name will pray. Amen
