The Experience

2 Timothy 4:8  Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

In the last chapter of his final letter to Timothy, Paul seems to be depressed with everything that is happening around him. The urgent undertone of the letter reveals Paul’s desire to meet Timothy before his demise.

Did Paul’s passion to follow the Lord leave him without hope?

To a worldly eye it is easy to believe that Paul was unhappy. Only a spirit led believer can discern Paul’s joy for having fulfilled God’s mission.

He was excited to meet Jesus and receive his crown from the King of Kings!

Often, our walk with God may seem like a wasted life to those of the world. It leaves them confused when we do not indulge in sensual pleasures. They think we have no excitement in life.

But, we, as followers of the living God, know better!

The excitement of walking with God everyday eclipses every other worldly pleasure. It puts in us an inexplicable sense of joy, peace and desire to know more of Him. It is a feeling that mere words cannot capture.

Only an experience can do justice to it!
