Septemeber 2018 – Month of Promotions

Progress holds the key to unlock the floodgates of promotion.

Are you eagerly awaiting your next promotion in life?

Now you know the secret. Embrace progress and promotions will come looking for you.

But, what sort of progress are we pursuing? Does our professional progress mean more to us than spiritual progress?

Even progress needs prioritization.

Psalm 35:13 (KJV)
But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.

Ask Daniel, and he’ll tell you how promotions caught up with him when he prioritized the progress of his spiritual life over all else. From slave to Prime Minister, from a nobody to the king’s most beloved, the story of Daniel is an epic story of promotion.

In fact, Daniel was so stringent in the promotion of his spiritual life that he was thrown into the lions’ den for giving second preference to the king. But, the Lord ensured that no harm befell him, because he promoted God to the top of their list of priorities.

Daniel’s integrous life and devotion to God influenced the king to such an extent that he passed a law forbidding anyone to speak against the God of Israel.

Such is the power of spiritual promotion!

1 Peter 5:6 (KJV)
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

In all the dazzle of promotions let’s not give room for pride. After all, promotion is a throne reserved for the humble, because the crown of progress will not fit a head that is bloated with pride.

This month let us focus on spiritual promotion, fully knowing that other promotions are racing towards us, because it is written “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” – Matthew 6:33

Prayer:
Lord, now I know that stagnation is not an option with spiritual promotion. This month help me to march ahead in progress towards my next spiritual promotion. Help me to remain humble under your hands that you may lift me up in due time. Amen.
