The God of My Strength

Ephesians 6:10 – “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

Christ is our strength. He strengthens us with His power which He gives us through His spirit if we believe.  And why would we need to have access to this unsurmountable power?

Because, as Jesus said: “Apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5c NIV)

We need Jesus to fight against all the schemes of the devil.

In the verses that follow, we are commanded to put on the full armor of God and reminded that our struggle is not against flesh and blood. Jesus is our Armor. Only through Him can we be saved, be delivered from all evil, and stand firm.

When you are facing difficulties, remember who fights your battles, who hears your thoughts, who is victorious, who has already crushed the enemy underneath His feet, who conquered the grave!  “And pray in the spirit in all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests”. (Ephesians 6:18 NIV).

But stay connected – stay in the vine. Only then you will have access to God’s promise to strengthen you!
